be inspired: some kinda challenge thingy...and more photoshop
54I know some of us might still be smarting from the stigma caused by the word challenge for whatever reason. But for better or for worse, the hub challenge is water under the bridge, spilled milk. We move on. C'est la vie!
So WTF is this?! Unfortunately some ghosts refuse to rest in peace, they come back to haunt. Fortunately, this is only "some kinda challenge thingy" not a full blown rebirth of that-which-must-not-be-spoken-of-eva-eva-again.
Anyway...
A couple of days I ago I sent an image I PhotoShopped to Sandy, aka Am I dead, yet?. I've been noticing she's been on a kind of slump (yet again!) so I thought I'd get that beautiful mind jump started - if not annoy her with spam email. And it's a good thing I did for the result of that risk-taking is the amazing poetry called big empty (unfortunately the hub has been pulled down). And that got me to thinking. Maybe you are in a lethargic mode too? At least mentally. So I again went amok and ransacked the net for some images to work on. And the results are below.
So if you find any image that ignites your um fire, to write poetry, fiction or even a memoir, please feel free to use it in your hub. If not, your wallpaper might need some updating. LOL But if my magic works on you like it did to Sandy, my only request is that you leave a link on the comment box - like a crouton to Hansel. Thank you.

Ay ay ay, Cris ... I can see myself borrowing a couple, the background woman with the foreground hand, and the woman with the keyhole... they both inspire that type of content that's rather frowned upon here in HP :-) But I may yet find a way to use them! Muchas gracias, your artiste, you!
These photos, relaxed me, took my breath away because it fed the fantasy/creative part of my mind. The first one with the woman looking at the floating earth or globe is beautiful, the one that seems to in be in NYC, as I have walked those streets (the black and white with the red balloon and the little girl in red) is another favorite, I love greyscale photos with a touch of color, and... I have to stop now, LOL, enjoyed them all, oh, but couldn't resist, just one more, the magical unicorn is cool too!
Lovely work!
Fantastic. You're becoming quite the photoshop expert! Thanks for the shares, I may use one or two. I read that poem of AIDY's right away! She is amazing! (I say it again and again, but it is so true, she's an inspiration despite and because of the raw sadness and humaness in her poetry). Thanks.
Cris, it did look like the fabulous Kidman in Portrait of a Lady... all the more reason to inspire me, do I dig that Aussie! :P
Cris!
Fantastic work! I knew I had a reason to stay awake (and I have class tomorrow, oops, today! o.0* ). I spy with my little eye some interested Hubbers. The photo shop art is awe-inspiring! I am curious as to the outcome of the photos? I am flattered that I have inspired you as well. I am so shocked to be honest, and to Frieda as well? I am a mere shadow in comparison to the work I read here from the both of you, and the other fierce writers here on the hubpages. May we all become sick with inspiration! I have made a pick as well...can you guess which one...?
Well done, my friend. Ovations to another fantastic job!
Amazing and inspiring Cris! Well. I've just completed something you challenged me to do....and it looks like these fabulous images are going to challenge many more of us to do more hubs! A Photoshop guru you are!
Beautiful images! I especially like the first one - has my imagination ticking. And, the little girl with the red balloon actually reminds me of something similar I saw while in NYC on a rainy day. Everyone was wearing black as people in NYC do, and the sky was grey - and a little girl in red, was carrying a red umbrella. A stunning site - like your image.
Speaking of a kind of challenge, I welcome you to visit my nominated "HubNugget", which hopefully will inspire you as well. If it does, please vote for it at: http://hubpages.com/_143/hub/Published It's called, "Town and Country in the Suburbs".
And, I'll be keeping an eye on your beautiful visuals. I am a fan! Cheers!
Thank you Cris - I too am in a creativity crisis.. feeling "at a loss".. these were beautiful!
inspiration complete
Lovely images....but I still can't find anything to say...sigh.
This is nice.
You are so talented!
I have my own fiction challenge right now thanks to the great minds here at hubpages. Their interest awakened Thomas Anderson and Graytech from a long sleep and now the Graytech story demands to be told.
Cris,
What amazing images...are all so creative. Thank you for offering them to us...what a generous gesture. I've definitely been inspired!
I really like your art work, Chris. I am actually inspired to pull out my ancient version of photoshop and try new things.

Wowee these are awesome did you make them all Cris??

These are awesome my friend! Hey....I been thinking about doing a Sissy May and Bobba Fred story called Trailer Trek. A rednecks in space adventure!....hint...hint! LYM.....! :)
I'm mesmerized by the open window.
I liked the one with "your hand" in it and then the window with the flowing curtains...they are all just fasinating!!!! you have such an artistic mind...I have photoshop but am chicken to try... Thanks Lurve ya moreee..:O) Hugs
Great images, Cris!! I particularly like the one with the little girl in the red dress, immediately I knew who and what she was/is. Oh, could be a good story there!
Thanks for this!
OI! Ms Babbley snatched "my" image! AHEM! Laugh! Say, can we reuse or must we stick to not yet used images?
I liked the one of the country boy and the city boy looking at the moon.
I'm gonna wallpaper it
Hi Cris, so beautiful! I love it!!! :D Can I also have your permission to post it in our Loving Abundance site? hehe
Diggin' it all - makes we want to be doing more imagery too! As always Cris, you rock!
Once again, you da man! Your first photo-shop post inspired me to make my own picks for a story that I refused to publish with out pics. (I was like, duh, I make pics all the time, but for some reason it did not click until your last wonderful post). My program(s) is not nearly as cool as photo-shop. You seem to have caused quite a buz. I am not the poet that you, AID or FB are, but you still inspired me in my own "head in the clouds" way. You have constantly seemed to inspire many others. You are the legendary in the hubs.
And of course my favorite is the one with the wolf in the office building.
(just kidding)
These are some awesome images Cris. And such a positive way to help the community get over the hub whatever :) You are truly talented and a very positive force.
I still want to see you in tight jeans though :) Thas right - I only care about your booty!
Truly beautiful and inspiring images. You are an artiste. I surely enjoy your work. Thank you.
I have noticed your pics on several hubs so far! Great job!
Very nice work. It's fun to look at your creations and compose the stories that go with them! Are you trying to add another PHD to your already extensive credentials? Hmmm? PHD=photo doctor.
Thanks Cris, sorry about that. It was VERY late over here. I linked to this from mine, but not the other way around. So are there more than just the two? And that was your hand? Nice layering. I can't imaging it was easy to do.
I hope to see many takes on these graphics. I'm thinking of trying a couple more I have my eye on. Thanks again for the inspirations.
Cris, as always, artistic, poetic, you! I don't know why, but I really like the first one. Maybe I have played that dungeon, LOL! But it draws me and I really want to hop onto the world. :D
Some great images there Chris
Here is what I did with the photo. http://www.lovingabundance.com/2009/07/18/quote-by
I hope this is okay with you. I provided a link to your profile and to this hub. Many, many thanks! :D
Beautiful images! You have really perfected photoshopping! I like the window best.
Hey Cris i should seriously kill you...no like burn you on a stake ...Man this is freakishly awesome and i totally lv it.. i am so putting them as wallpapers :P
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D: Keep on going ok? and update ur hubs :D:D:D:D
Damn, these are engaging and haunting. You are a PhD indeed!
Cris: Just added a poetry hub with one of your photos. Its not as powerful as Frieda's latest poem, but at least I tried. :)
Just noticed Ripplemaker used the same photo. Wow, its a beautiful creation.
Nice, inspiring, beautiful, I love them....
Well done Chris.
The second to last....wooded scene grabs me. I love it and know just what I would write!
Well Cris, as usual, you have inspired me! Thanks! :D You can find my poem at:
of course i am using them as wallpaper...i mean you can't help but fall in love especially when seeing a master Piece!! Come on Cris you are great with the photo-shop! Don't play humble on us today :D:D:
Cris, I love checking out your hubs! They always make me smile. :-) I am always grateful that you share your beautiful poetry and artistry with us. Lovely images my dear friend. My oldest daughter loves the unicorn pic, she takes after her mother. :-)
Cris that Is some good stuff ! I especially liked that last one kinda space agey ! Was that Charlize Theron ? I think you may have a bright future here at HP ! Good work Bro !
Hey there, I am no stranger than usual. :-) I hope you don't mind that I printed out the pics for my daughters, they absolutely adore them and want to hang them on their bedroom wall. NO more hubs for me, for awhile at least. I am working on ways to free abused single moms of their bonds. I have your rss feeds so I can admire your work, that always makes me smile. I just flitter in from time to time. Thanks for the inspiration my friend.
Fantastic job Cris. I was on vacation the past few days and see now that you've been quite busy. With such great pictures, I don't see how anyone would have a problem with being inspired (please don't ask me which one is my favorite). I see you like Aeon Flux as I do, or perhaps you like Charlize Theron? Either way, you and I have a like interest! It would make for an interest movie too (her fighting aliens). Wait a minute! No one has wrote about that pic yet! Hmmmm...
Cris ~ You are a great inspiration. I have used one of your pics for my last poem!! Thank you very much! Hope it meets your worthiness... your highness! :D

Here is my little contribution to the cause
Thanks for the inspiration Cris!
Neat idea Cris. I'm not sure any of them "get me going" at the moment. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm lethargic...ok, maybe I am. But I have been working on something...just something else. I'll get back to the music soon I promise.
Well now son. You have drawn me in with your mastery of seducing hubbers into your ways. Let me think on this, I may be inspired yet. Not that I need it, but it just may be something new and exciting. thanks Cris, still love ya
Cool Cris, need you to give me some photoshop lessons, mine never come out as good!
Well I think I might be inspired by this you magician you. No, I am inspired. Will see what can come of it.
The writing is awesome and so are the pictures.
Cris, for you and the Cabin Girl--inspiration for
'La Ventana' http://hubpages.com/hub/la-ventana
Thank you again -hugs-
Well, the dust has blown from this hub!! LOL
Found one of these images while cleaning out my files and Voila! It had legs... haha. :)
This is another beautiful and creative hub Cris A. I'm so glad that I*n*v*i*c*t*u*s referenced it. Otherwise I would have missed this one. Again, very beautiful! :)
Wow! Love these images! I especially like the curtains blowing away from the window and the brilliant sky, very cool.
