sinner
61
i have a confession
i have feet of clay
heart of glass
hands of water
fire for breath
my mind, a black hole
where i lose myself
at the scent of nightfall
my eyes, perverted as sin,
see evil where there's none
my tonque, mute as air
but forked and serpentine
i am you and you are me
when the pendulum
swings no more
and the mirror cracks
the spirit breaks
and falls in shreds of black
into the empty space
of a colorless dream
i am, you are, man
natural born sinner
waiting for deliverance

We are. And with that is expected a fall from grace. Even the great few who seem flawless have plenty of secrets to hide. I, too, have a confession.
Yes we all sinners.. but god Loves Us and He knows us.. We just need to make sure we ask Him to forgive us.. Awesome and beautiful; I voted way up
Debbie
...so who is perfect? Besides HIM?...Life is your test and Gratitude is what we all need...He hears you and some times it is hard to understand the what for's and why's..LOVE You ...:O) Hugs G-Ma
p.s. very inspring poem...up up and up
Wisdom and insight permeate this poem, Cris. I happen to think being able to choose is to BE human and what we were made to BE, so we could BE it fully, learn it well and continuously develop beyond its limitations to and by the dawn of enlightenment which is also in and of our nature. As G-Ma said, we can be grateful and I think, even glory and revel in our LIVES. What miracles are they!!
Choices. Responsibility. They make us strong or let us linger in our lesser stages. It is well that we can choose. We don't even know what-all it is "for". But we always know what we CAN choose and BE, in the time we have- each day.
Full of depth images and the theme is worth praising.
Awesome, that pic and the words that go with it. However flawed we are, there are also the seeds of divinity within us, waiting for rain to bloom.
Oh Cris............. I hope it rained like you wanted.
It did rain...
rain :o)
hauntingly beautiful~ your words will live on and remind us of our human fraility and the beauty of being.
Your last words are written here. Yes all of us should strive to be better human beings. You were delivered my friend and embraced by God himself. You will be missed. I hope it rained for you. May you rest in Peace my dear friend. Please say hello to Earnest for me. Until we meet again.
What a wonderful person I got to know...Even inspired me by your photo's to write some poetry...Cris "I Lurve you" and miss you already, my world will never be the same without you...God called you HOME, one day maybe I will be able to meet you ...:O( Hugs G-Ma
Cris, I miss you. I know your soul is alive, but your body is not, and I will miss you. I will miss your warmth, your generosity, your talent. Amazing how even if we never meet in person, the friendships are very real. Rest in peace my friend! May angels also console your Mom and sisters.
I miss you so terribly. :(
My dear, sweet, kind, gentle young friend, may you now rest in peace.
With all my fatherly love,
De Greek
I knew you not in time but now I will never forget.
Rest in peace.
Cris my sweet poetic friend. You and I have commented on our work and with a deep respect for each others scribes. My tears now flow for you as the rain comes down around us. May you RIP and finish your book you so much wanted to complete while here with us.
You left us a legacy of beautiful poetry at the Hubs as a lasting tribute to your talent. I will frequent often in remembrance of you. Adieu my poet until we meet again on the other side of this plane.
Cris, we are kabayans, both being Filipinos, and yet it was our mutual friend De Greek who informed me about your end of the journey on earth. I'll miss you so much. I'm blessed knowing you with a poetic heart.
Yes, your sweet deliverance will be anchored through our prayers and your contributions here at HubPages will not perish with your mortal body. Your good works will be immortalized. God be with you, my friend!
How sad, I'm reading this beautiful poem after the poet's death.
Rest well, dear friend. Know that you are missed by so many. You touched the lives of so many. Your joy was contagious. Thank you so much for all you have shared with us.
This is both incredibly sad and incredibly triumphant. I see your living spirit as wise beyond its years and as even more free and all the brighter in your influence and sweet example now. As I say that, the tears are collecting and trickling down my cheeks. Selfishly, I'd like you to be among us as one of we imperfect humans, striving to rise and find our true, full, real and excellent nature beyond all that.
Thank you for all you've given us, dear Cris.
Hugs and love, wherever you are.

My deep sympathy to all who loved Cris.
Oh Cris what a beautiful legacy you have left behind to those that read your words and knew your spirit. RIP Cris.
Rest In Peace Beautiful Beautiful person.......
So strange to read this after your passing. Your kindness, your good soul has reached into the hearts of strangers and those who have felt that kindness, so many, will miss your presence in this world. God Bless and welcome you into a better place.
Your passing is unbelievable and such a shock. We never met personally, but I considered you a friend. Via con dios, my dear friend. You are already sorely missed.
If anyone knows how--and when Cris died, will you please email me and tell me? orpercussionist@yahoo.com

We are all but human. God knew this when he created us, so I think as long as we believe and do our best, it's OK. We are brought to him through grace, not deed. Thank you for sharing this.
